Visitor Center & Gift Shop

The Lost World Caverns Visitor Center and Natural History Museum is open daily and includes a 3,000-square-foot gift shop featuring geodes, minerals, replica fossils, and other items of geologic and scientific interest. The museum features a vast collection of dinosaur and fossil specimens. Our modern visitor center accommodates large groups and includes bus and RV parking. A picnic area is also available at the visitor center.

Lost World Caverns is located just outside historic Lewisburg, West Virginia – one of National Geographic Magazine‘s Top Ten U.S. communities. Natural History Museum

See what roamed the earth millions of years ago. Our Natural History Museum features a large collection of dinosaur fossils and replicas. Browse our dinosaur museum and learn about the Tyrannosaurus Rex, Triceratops, and more. In 1967, the remains of a prehistoric cave bear (Arctodus Pristinus) were unearthed in the cave. A second discovery in 2015 unearthed one of the oldest black bears found in WV. Exciting and educational for the whole family. Great for school groups and church functions. We have several picnic tables, so bring your lunch and enjoy the panoramic view. Want to try something different for your next meeting or birthday party but the weather won’t cooperate?
